American Security Council / American Security Council Foundation
——
Founded in the mid-1950s by Gen. Robert Wood and the Chicago Tribune’s Robert R. McCormick, the American Security Council served for decades as one of the country’s leading anti-Soviet outfits. In the 1970s, its membership rolls were filled with alums of the Team B exercise and the Committee on the Present Danger, including former U. S. ambassador Clare Booth Luce, atomic physicists Edward Teller and Eugene Wigner, and Charles Burton Marshall.
