Walter Isaacson, President and CEO

Walter Isaacson is the President and CEO of the Aspen Institute, a nonpartisan educational and policy studies institute based in Washington, D.C. He has been the Chairman and CEO of CNN and the editor of Time Magazine, etc.

He lives with his wife and daughter in Washington, DC.

Robert K. Steel, Chairman

Robert K. Steel is the former president and CEO of Wachovia Corporation.  He joined the board of directors of Wells Fargo & Co. upon the firm’s merger with Wachovia.  He previouslyserved as Under Secretary of the Treasury for Domestic Finance. … He joined Goldman Sachs in 1976 and served in the Chicago office until his transfer to London in 1986. In London he founded the Equity Capital Markets group for Europe and was extensively involved in privatization and capital raising efforts for European corporations and governments. He later assumed the position as head of Equities for Europe. In 1994 he relocated to New York and served as head of the Equities Division from 1998-2001 until his appointment as a vice chairman of the firm. He became a partner in 1988 and joined the Management Committee in 1999. Upon his retirement from Goldman Sachs, he assumed the position of advisory director for the firm and then senior director in December 2004. …He resides in Connecticut and Washington, D.C. with his wife and three daughters.

Berl Bernhard Chairman Emeritus, The Aspen Institute

Berl Bernhard served as Chairman of the Aspen Institute from 1991 to 1996. He currently serves as Chair of the Middle East Investment Initiative (MEII). He is a partner in the law firm of DLA Piper specializing in international law, corporate investigations, legislation and aviation. He directed the United States Commission on Civil Rights under President Kennedy and served in the State Department as Special Counsel to Under Secretary W. Richard Braddock Chairman and CEO, Freshdirect

Mr. Braddock, began his business career in 1965 spending a number of years in product management at General Foods.  He joined Citicorp in 1973, was elected to the board of directors in 1985 and was elected president and chief operating officer of Citicorp and its principal subsidiary, Citibank, N.A. in January, 1990.  Mr. Braddock resigned from Citicorp in November, 1992, and subsequently served as chief executive officer of Medco Containment Services, Inc. until its acquisition by Merck & Co., Inc., and then spent a year as a principal at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Inc.  He served as Chairman (non-executive) of True North Communications Inc. from December, 1997 to January of 1999.  He served as Chairman and CEO of priceline.com from August of 1998 to April 2004.   Mr. Braddock served as Chairman of MidOcean Partners from April of 2003 until December 2007, and also became Chairman of FreshDirect in 2005. In March of 2008 Mr. Braddock became Chairman and CEO of Fresh Direct.  …Mr. Braddock serves on the board of directors of Eastman Kodak Company (lead director),  Fresh Direct Holdings, Inc., The Aspen Institute,  Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Cristo Rey Network, and several private companies.  He is a member of The Council on Foreign Relations.

James Schine Crown

James Schine Crown is President of Henry Crown and Company, a privately owned investment company which invests in public and private securities, real estate and operating companies. Jim Crown was born in Chicago in 1953, the son of Lester and Renée (Schine) Crown. …Upon graduating, Mr. Crown joined Salomon Brothers Inc, in New York City, as an associate. He became a vice president of the Capital Markets Service Group in January 1983. In April 1985 he returned to Chicago to join his family’s investment firm.

Mr. Crown is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. Mr. Crown has been married to the former Paula Hannaway since 1985. She was also a vice president of Salomon Brothers, and is currently working at Henry Crown and Company. Mrs. Crown is a Trustee of the Children’s Memorial Medical Center, Conservation International, the Museum of Modern Art, the Aspen Music Festival, Duke University, the Latin School of Chicago, Vice Chair of the Board of High Jump and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Chicago Community Trust. She is on the Board of Advisors of Nasher Museum of Art and serves on the Women’s Boards of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the University of Chicago.  They have four children.
